PGMOL chief Webb is reported by to have told Forest that one of the three penalty appeals that were turned down against Everton should have have been given. It was a mistake for referee Anthony Taylor not to award a foul for Ashley Young's foul on Callum Hudson-Odoi, and for VAR Stuart Attwell not to intervene. This was after the key match incident panel (KMIP) unanimously decided that it was the wrong call.

Forest caused a massive stir after the game with a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, criticising the officiating and even going as far as questioning Attwell's integrity by claiming that they had warned PGMOL he is a Luton fan. Two other penalty incidents, both involving Everton full-back Ashley Young, appear to have been considered the correct calls by Webb.
WHAT THE KMIP REPORT SAID
The KMIP report said: "Young inherits the risk by going to ground from the wrong side and Hudson-Odoi beats him to the ball. It is a foul. It was felt unanimously that a penalty should have been awarded and VAR should have intervened on the basis that Young doesn't make any contact on the ball and that there is evidence that his contact with Hudson-Odoi has the consequence of tripping the attacker."

An admission that they wronged at least once will be little consolation for Forest with their Premier League status still hanging in the balance. They sit 17th, one point above Luton in the relegation zone, but at have their destiny in their own hands as both teams have only three games left. Games against Sheffield United and Burnley come either side of facing Chelsea, during which they must match Luton's results against Everton, West Ham and Fulham.
